You Cannot Give From an Empty Cup, So Fill Up!
I came across a most fitting image of an empty cup that said this: “You cannot pour out anything from an empty cup.”
If you do not put time and conscious effort into your health now, there is no second chance later.
Yes, this means you. You who no longer have time to go to the gym due to Christmas Programs, Christmas shopping, meal planning, hosting guests and family for the holidays, stuffing your face with that delicious comfort food……
Sadly, this time of year, fitness classes turn kind of barren. Regulars who never missed are now missing in action somewhere not at the gym and fitness instructors look to one another and offer up condolences (okay, a bit dramatic!).
Why do we feel that dropping the priority of our own health to the bottom of the list is acceptable the last few months of the year? Why is January 1 allowable to be a “restart” button in which we set high expectations to focus on eating healthier and working out more only to fail?
Again, if you do not put time and conscious effort into your health now, there is no second chance later.
Last month we talked about taking small steps into our New Year’s Resolution, as the large life changing goals are an almost 100% guaranteed epic fail.
Sadly, I will see you back in January, coming and talking about how bad you feel, your weight gain, your stress from the holidays, how hard the workout is, getting sore and then not coming back for a week…..
Why put yourself through this torture?
So don’t wait to refill until after your cup is bone dry! Fill often from whatever fills your cup. Maybe you are a latte kind of girl, so filling your cup includes exercise, chocolate, time with friends and quiet time. Fill your cup, and fill often my dear mamas!
